FAQ

Why is there a need for a Frontier Ranch capital campaign, and why is the camp still in hibernation?

  • Frontier is the mission's longest-operating camp. Due to its long history and extensive use, its unique infrastructure and structural needs must be addressed. These requirements include code compliance, safety, and the overall "camp experience.”
  • Frontier has seen only a handful of significant improvements over the past few decades besides the Assigned Team Lodge and the renovated slide.
  • The renovations proposed in this campaign will enable us to modify the camp's operations, more closely aligning the sizes of our cabins and bathrooms with our guest capacity.
  • The camp and all Young Life camps were initially put on pause during the pandemic. Before we can restore Frontier, most of the proposed projects must be completed.

Will any new activities or “rides” be a part of the campaign?

  • The ECC, camping, and field staff will offer crucial insights and recommendations on the necessity for further activities as part of the campaign.

Does Young Life need Frontier Ranch? Is selling the camp an option?

  • A recent field staff survey indicated a need for more Colorado camper beds in the next few years.
  • The same study also mentioned that Frontier Ranch received the highest location rating among all Young Life camps in Colorado.
  • Considering the expenses of acquiring a new camp (which would involve building it from the ground up), this upgrade campaign represents a wise investment. Frontier will be crucial as we prepare for the growth of our mission moving forward.

Can one contribute to the Frontier capital campaign now?

Yes, however, the campaign's full scope and goal will likely not be set until the summer of 2025.

Can Frontier accommodate guests now?
